A virtual particle exclusion system comprising acceleration means for imparting vacuum 5s1,5s2,5s3 virtual matter-antimatter particle pairs 6,7s1,7s2 with sufficient kinetic energy to become real. This allows objects ranging in scale from dust grains to piston heads 4 to spacecraft (8, Fig. 18) to be scattering members which can plough or sweep through and evacuate a region of space occupied by the newly formed real particles. A confining means 2, 3 is also proposed such that said evacuated space remains markedly depopulated of particles in comparison to space unaffected by the aforementioned processes. This enhanced manifestation of the Casimir effect provides a substantial source of negative energy for the purpose of space-time warping around accelerated dust grains and spacecraft for superluminal communication and propulsion respectively, and can provide an electrical and heat energy supply for human consumption.
