A device to control electrical load in subsea production control system electrical networks A method of regulating electrical load in an electrical network comprising a power supply and an electrical consumer or load 4, the method comprising the steps of connecting the electrical consumer 4 to the power supply 2; connecting a variable impedance module 6 to the power supply in parallel with the electrical consumer; and controlling the impedance of the variable impedance module in response to the electrical load drawn by the electrical consumer to maintain the overall electrical load between an upper limit and a lower limit. The variable impedance module may comprise a continually variable resistance, a plurality of discrete resistor connected in series or parallel, a capacitive device or an inductive device. The electrical network may be AC or DC. The impedance may be lowered in response to additional electrical consumers being connected to the electrical network. The electrical consumer or load may be a subsea electronics module.
