An aluminum alloy material for a high-pressure hydrogen gas container contains 0.6 to 1.5 mass% of Si, 0.6 to 1.6 mass% of Mg, 0.1 to 1.0 mass% of Cu, 0.05 to 0.4 mass% of Fe, 0.9 mass% or less of Mn, 0.3 mass% or less of Cr, 0.15 mass% or less of Zr, 0.2 mass% or less of V, 0.25 mass% or less of Zn, and 0.1 mass% or less of Ti, with the balance consisting in Al and inevitable impurities. The total content of Mn, Cr, Zr, and V is 0.05 mass% or more. The material has a yield strength S (MPa) and an electrical conductivity E (IACS%) satisfying formulae (1) and (2). The material has a yield strength S of 270 MPa or more and an electrical conductivity of 36 IACS% or more. (1): S ‰¤ -10.46 x E + 801, (2): S ‰¥ -25 x E + 1296
