The method of controlling an electronic power module according to the invention comprises the control of the electrical power module by a first control (16) of synchronous rectification mode (H,L)1 or by a second control (18) of full-wave mode (H, L)2 exhibiting a phase shift (Δφ) with respect to an electromotive force of the rotating electric machine, as a function of the value of at least one operating parameter of the machine from among the current speed of rotation (Ω) and the electromotive force of said machine, the first control (16) being selected when the value of the operating parameter is greater than a predetermined value (Ω0) and said second control (18) being chosen in the converse case.
