The present invention lies in the field of detection of hyperproliferative diseases, such as colorectal adenomas. The methylation of one or more CpG within a CpG rich region is indicative of the presence of colorectal adenomas. In particular, the invention relates to methods of early detection of colorectal adenomas, for example detection of adenomas of the colon.
