The invention relates to the fabrication of a thin-film photovoltaic cell made of silicon or CIGS. A deposition step is provided for at least one metal contact on a stack of thin films that comprises such a cell. In particular, the metal contact is produced from zinc and is produced, in the above-mentioned disposition step, by electrolysis, preferably photo-assisted electrolysis (7).
