In the present technique, health of a test object such as a machine part is determined. In the technique, a first scan of the test object is acquired. From the first scan, geometrical data of the test object is extracted. Subsequently, after a time interval, a second scan of the test object is acquired. From the second scan, geometrical data of the test object is extracted. The health of the test object facilitates predictive maintenance of the test object.
