The present invention refers to a bus bar (100) for the electrical connection of at least two terminals of a battery system (200). The bus bar (100) comprises a first and second electrically conductive terminal portion (91, 92), being spatially separated from each other and connectable to a terminal of a battery system (200) respectively. Moreover, the bus bar (100) comprises a semiconductor switch (60) being adapted to electrically connect the first and the second electrically conductive terminal portion (91, 92) with each other. The semiconductor switch (60) is directly mounted on the first and the second electrically conductive terminal portion (91, 92) and/or at least in part surrounded by the first and/or the second electrically conductive terminal portion (91, 92) respectively.;Moreover, a corresponding battery system (200) with a bus bar (100) according to the invention is provided.
