METHOD FOR INCREASING THE SPATIAL RESOLUTION OF A WEATHER PREDICTION

In a method for increasing the spatial resolution of a weather forecast in which for grid points of a first grid each forecasted meteorological parameters are present and the predicted meteorological parameters are interpolated to grid points of a second grid to obtain interpolated meteorological parameters, wherein the grid points of the second grid spatially is higher than the grid points of the first grid, a statistical post-processing method is used to predict at least one output of an analysis method by which predicted meteorological parameters are interpolatable to the grid points of the second grid.
