PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of gaging the autonomy of a system for storing and delivering gaseous ammonia to a consumer unit.SOLUTION: A system includes: a gaseous-ammonia storage cell comprising dedicated heating means; and at least one sensor of at least one parameter of the system. The method includes the steps of: controlling the system based on intrusive reference data independent of an ammonia demand from the consumer unit; during the control step, performing an intrusive measurement of the at least one parameter of the system using the sensor; and comparing the intrusive measurement against a threshold value of the at least one parameter under control conditions to estimate the autonomy of the system with respect to a filling threshold of the cell that corresponds to the threshold value of the parameter.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
