PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of screening microorganisms using production volume of a target biological molecule as an index of usefulness in which microorganisms that have a high production volume of the biological molecule are selected using IMS.;SOLUTION: The method of screening microorganisms that have high productivity of a target substance comprises: a step (1) of forming colonies of a microorganism on a solid medium; a step (2) of transferring the colonies formed on the solid medium onto a film or electroconductive slide glass; a step (3) of performing MALDI-IMS on the film or electroconductive slide glass onto which the colonies were transferred, and detecting the spectra of the ionized target substance; a step (4) of selecting colonies from which the spectra of the target substance was detected from the colonies on the film; and a step (5) of recovering the microorganisms forming the selected colonies from the colonies formed on the solid medium, or the film onto which the colonies were transferred or the electroconductive slide glass.;SELECTED DRAWING: None;COPYRIGHT: (C)2018,JPO&INPIT
