NAVIGATION DEVICE AND ROAD DATA REGISTRATION METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a navigation device and a road data registration method with which unnecessary road data are not registered on map data and only necessary road data can be automatically registered on map data, when a vehicle travels while deviating from registered roads.;SOLUTION: A navigation device comprises a road registration unit 104 which generates road data of an unregistered road not registered on map data on the basis of a travel track of a vehicle and registers the road data on the map data, except for the case when a turn-back determination unit 103 determines that the vehicle has turned back to a point on a registered road after deviation from the point on the registered road. Accordingly, in the case when the vehicle travels while deviating from the registered road, and when its travel route indicates that the vehicle turns back and returns to an original point, an automatic registration function for road data is made not to work, and in the other cases, road data based on the travel track of the vehicle is automatically registered on the map data.;SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1;COPYRIGHT: (C)2018,JPO&INPIT
