PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a countermeasure material for contamination with heavy metal and so on, allowing for: insolubilization of heavy metal and so on in soil; solidification of the soil thereby improvement in strength of the soil; suppression of re-mudding of the soil; and maintaining pH of modified soil in neutral region, and to provide a countermeasure method for contamination with heavy metal and so on using the countermeasure material.SOLUTION: The countermeasure material for contamination with heavy metal and so on contains as essential components, semi-baked dolomite compound, aluminum sulfate, ferrous sulfate, amorphous calcium silicate and/or calcium carbonate and/or dolomite, and a polymer material. The amorphous calcium silicate and/or calcium carbonate in an amount of 50 mass% or more, the semi-baked dolomite compound in an amount of 5 to 30 mass%, aluminum sulfide in an amount of 5 to 44 mass% and ferrous sulfate in an amount of 1 to 5 mass% are contained in total amount of the semi-baked dolomite compound, the aluminum sulfate, the ferrous sulfate, the amorphous calcium silicate and/or the calcium carbonate and/or the dolomite. The polymer material is contained in an amount of 0.1 to 10 mass% of the total amount of the polymer material and the amorphous calcium silicate and/or the calcium carbonate and/or the dolomite and the semi-baked dolomite compound, aluminum sulfate and ferrous sulfate.SELECTED DRAWING: None
