PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a body tracing device capable of tracing a body more properly even in a variety of situations associated with reliability of tracing.SOLUTION: The present device which traces an object body by determining an image area associated with the body in each of images in a time-series image group has: response map generating means for generating a response map at one point of time using a correlation filter for each search area determined among image areas associated with one body determined at the point of time right before the one point of time; change point determining means for determining a change point of a value of the response map; and tracing deciding means for setting, when it is determined that the value of the response map at the one point of time is a change point, a plurality of candidate image areas instead of deciding a correct answer directly from the value of the response map, and deciding, based upon an index for at least one image area determination including an index not relating directly to the response map, an image area, associated with the body considered as a correct answer at the one point of time, among the plurality of candidate image areas.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
