PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a converter-type refining furnace and an operation method therefor capable of improving the life of a furnace body.;SOLUTION: Refining treatments in a first refining process and a second refining process are conducted in a plurality of refining treatments performed in the same furnace generation of a converter-type refining furnace. In the first refining process, the refining treatment is conducted using a top-blowing lance (for example, a first top-blowing lance 3a) having a plurality of nozzles (for example, nozzles 301a to 304a) arranged at a first position spaced concentrically on the lower side in the extending direction.
