PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a device to write data on one or more recording media in an atomic manner.;SOLUTION: Upon receiving a request to perform atomic writing of one set of data, a device writes the one set of data over the whole of a plurality of storage units, including storing metadata at a dedicated position within at least one storage unit of the plurality of storage units in response to the request. The metadata is usable for determining if writing is normally finished. The request is transmitted by an application to which an address range of the storage units is allocated. The address range can be accessed by an application for storing data, and the dedicated position is outside the address range.
