PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide bis-(4-styrenesulfonyl)imide or its salt which is a crosslinkable monomer having excellent radical polymerizability, cation exchangeability and high water-solubility and is extremely useful for producing a solid electrolyte of an alkali metal ion battery, a fuel cell membrane or the like and to provide bis-(4-haloethylbenzenesulfonyl)imide or its salt of the precursor and a method for producing the same.;SOLUTION: There are provided: bis-(4-haloethylbenzenesulfonyl)imide represented by the formula (1) or its sa a method for producing the same; and a method for producing bis-(4-styrenesulfonyl)imide or its salt.
