PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To precisely control P concentration in molten iron by properly adjusting Si concentration in the molten iron and to improve the production efficiency.;SOLUTION: In this molten iron pretreatment method, initial molten metal data which include initial concentrations of molten iron components including at least Si, Fe, and C, are acquired, Si concentration in the molten iron is sequentially estimated on the basis of the initial molten iron data, the time series exhaust gas data including the components and the flow rate of the exhaust gas discharged from the converter, and the limestone input data including the weight of the limestone charged into the converter, and the Si concentration in the molten iron is adjusted based on the difference between the estimated Si concentration and the target Si concentration in the molten iron. For the estimation of the Si concentration, applied is a complex reaction model combining a fire point reaction which is an oxidation reaction between molten iron and blowing oxygen supplied to the molten iron from an upward blown lance and a slag metal interfacial reaction which is a reaction at an interface between molten iron and slag and progresses in a region different from the fire point region where fire point reaction proceeds.;SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4;COPYRIGHT: (C)2018,JPO&INPIT
