PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain, for example, a brake for a vehicle which is further simplified in a constitution.SOLUTION: A brake for a vehicle includes, for example, a first piston for pressing a first brake shoe, and a second piston for pressing a second brake shoe. The brake also comprises: a movable component which is interposed between the first brake shoe and the second brake shoe so as to be integrally movable in a cylinder hole in a depressurized state of a pressure chamber; a ratchet mechanism for rotationally displacing either of the first piston and the second piston so that a rotation angle around an axis with respect to a housing becomes large as a stroke between the depressurized state and a pressurized state becomes large; and a plurality of elongation mechanisms for elongating a length of the movable component in an axial direction as the rotation angle becomes large. Either of the elongation mechanism is arranged between either of the pistons which is rotationally displaced by the ratchet mechanism and the brake shoe which is pressed by the piston, and the other elongation mechanism is arranged between the first piston and the second piston.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5
