PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a DOHC type internal combustion engine which has a pair of intake valves and a pair of exhaust valves arranged at a periphery of a plug hole and also has two pairs of locker arms interposed between an intake-side cam shaft and an exhaust-side cam shaft and between an intake valve and an exhaust valve, respectively, and that has a cylinder head made compact by making relatively small an arrangement space for the intake valves and exhaust valves.SOLUTION: First and second support parts 65a, 65b that one pair of locker arms 59L, 59R have are arranged between intake valves 51L, 51R and exhaust valves 52L, 52R and at a periphery of a plug hole 55 in a direction orthogonal to axes of intake-side and exhaust-side cam shafts 57, 58, and third and fourth support parts 65c, 65d that the other pair of locker arms 60L, 60R have are arranged outside between the intake valves 51L, 51R and exhaust valves 52L, 52R in a direction orthogonal to the axes of the intake-side and exhaust-side cam shafts 57, 58.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 7
