PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a heavy load carrying device and a heavy load carrying method capable of reducing time and labor required for carrying a heavy load.;SOLUTION: A rail 6 of a heavy load carrying device includes a lower rail member 21 which is provided in a lower-stage support device 4 to be vertically movable, an upper rail member 22 which is provided in an upper-stage support device 5 to be vertically movable, and a connection rail member 23 which is disposed between the lower rail member 21 and the upper rail member 22 and turnably connected to each of the lower rail member 21 and the upper rail member 22.
