PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bolus which is able to come into intimate contact with a body surface of a patient without any gaps therebetween and has an appropriate radiation transmittance distribution suited for an affected part of the patient.SOLUTION: A bolus is formed which has a shape along a body surface of an individual patient to be exposed to radiation and has an appropriate radiation transmittance distribution suited for an affected part of the patient, based on shape data of a skin surface of the patient and on shape data of the affected part of the patient. The bolus can be formed by casting a bolus forming liquid material comprising water, minerals, and a polymerizable polymer into a mold made using a three-dimensional printer and thereafter hardening the liquid material. Alternatively, the bolus can be directly formed, using an inkjet three-dimensional printer which hardens a material by ultraviolet light or a stereolithographic three-dimensional printer.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 13
