The present invention relates to a composition for the diagnosis and treatment of recurrent thyroid cancer, comprising genetically modified human thyroid stimulating hormone (rhTSH), and a method for producing genetically modified human thyroid hormone. In the method for producing a recombinant human thyroid hormone according to the present invention, rhTSH can be efficiently produced while culturing by fed-batch culture, and the purification yield and purity are high. Therefore, the genetically modified thyroid stimulating hormone produced by this method can be usefully used for diagnosis or treatment of recurrent thyroid cancer.
