PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing an electride mayenite compound that produces an electride mayenite compound at a lower temperature and in a shorter time than in the conventional art.;SOLUTION: A mayenite compound has an anion included in a cage having a crystal skeleton of 12CaO 7Al2O3, and is irradiated with electromagnetic waves in a frequency band of 0.001 THz or more and 20 THz or less in frequency.
