PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide testing the configuration of a process control apparatus and the like.SOLUTION: An engineering tool for testing a process control system has one or a plurality of test manager instances. Each of the test manager instances has a circuit for receiving a test case and a relevant test request. This circuit identifies an object of each of the test requests, converts each test request to instructions for the identified object, checks legitimacy of each test request, starts execution of each test case, monitors issued data generated by the object, calculates difference between issued data at the first timing and at the second timing, and generates notification when the calculated difference is larger than a predetermined threshold value.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
