SILICA SCALE INHIBITOR AND METHOD FOR PREVENTING SILICA SCALE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable phenolic resin to stably exhibit a silica scale prevention effect by preventing hydrophilization of the phenolic resin caused by oxidative degradation of the phenolic resin due to dissolved oxygen, thereby maintaining affinity and adsorptivity to solid silica over a long period of time, in a silica scale inhibitor composed of an alkaline solution of the phenolic resin.;SOLUTION: A silica scale inhibitor is provided that includes an alkaline solution of thermoplastic phenolic resin and antioxidant. As the antioxidant, sulfurous acid, L-ascorbic acid, D-ascorbic acid, erythorbic acid, or a salt thereof which have high reactivity with dissolved oxygen are preferable.
