PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a barley flour which is excellent in taste, has characteristics, such as having a low calorie and not containing gluten, particularly, to provide a barley flour for pet foods which is palatable to even a pet, such as a small dog, and has a low risk of development of allergy, to provide foods using the barley flour, and to provide a production method thereof.SOLUTION: The invention provides: a barley flour with a damaged starch amount of 1% by weight or more and 5% by weight or less; particularly, a barley flour for pet food obtained by subjecting barley to flow grinding; foods including confectionery, bread and noodles, obtained using the barley flour; and a production method of the barley flour for pet food with a damaged starch amount of 1% by weight or more and 5% by weight or less by subjecting barley to flow grinding.
