PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a protective material useful for obtaining a protective clothing or the like capable of being subjected to water repellency-oil repellency working with the same immersed into a water repellent-oil repellent agent without being decomposed.SOLUTION: Provided is a protective material having an external layer additional layer(s) and a liquid shielding layer(s) by at least one or more layers, respectively. The external layer additional layer(s) is composed of fiber and has a basis weight of 5 to 200 g/m, and the liquid shielding layer(s) is composed of fiber with the average single fiber diameter of 0.5 to 10 μm, and also, an oil repellent degree according to an AATCC test method 118-2002 is 5.5 class or more, and the maximum pore size is 1.0 to 100 μm.SELECTED DRAWING: None
