Communication quota allocation method and corresponding online charging system

In the prior art, communication quotas for bursting data services are allocated according to account balance of users. A method for allocating quotas to a communication and a corresponding online charging system is proposed in the present invention. The method includes: i) allocating a quota to the communication; ii) acquiring an actual quota consumption speed for the communication based on the allocated quota; and iii) allocating a new quota to the communication according to the actual quota consumption speed. In embodiments of the invention, new quotas are allocated according to the actual consumption speed of the quota, which provides more flexibility to quota allocations.
