PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve a projector that is equipped with a pre-lens shift mechanism less in an influence with respect to an image light creation unit and an optical axis of the lens shift mechanism even when external force acts on a housing in the projector equipped with the image light creation unit, the lens shift mechanism, and a sheet plate communicating with the lens shift mechanism, and to provide a lens shift mechanism mounting method.;SOLUTION: A projector has: an image light creation unit that creates image light; a lens shift mechanism that connects to the image light creation unit; a sheet plate; and a housing that is provided with a first fixation part for attaching the image light creation unit, a second fixation part for attaching the lens shift mechanism, and a third fixation part for attaching the sheet plate.
