PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide agents and food and drinks which activate a TCA cycle whose function is inhibited by in vivo alcohol metabolism, and β oxidation, and which promote regeneration of NADthrough the activation of oxidative phosphorylation and are simultaneously effective in protecting cells from oxidative stress causing hepatopathy or in repairing cells damaged by the stress.SOLUTION: The alcohol metabolism promoting agent of the present invention comprises an energy metabolism promoting agent in which AMP is used as an indirect ATP synthetic substrate. As for the energy metabolism promoting agent, preferably citric acid, vitamin B1, and the like are comprised. Preferably, the alcohol metabolism promoting agent comprises an Nrf2 activator. The Nrf2 activator comprises a food factor comprising lipoic acid, curcumin, sesamin, and the like, or an extract obtained from Tuber melanosporum and the like.
