PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To transmit a timecode signal to be applied to a video signal having a frame frequency higher than 60 Hz.;SOLUTION: An HD-SDI signal generating unit 12 in a timecode transmitter 1 generates an HD-SDI signal after multiplexing a timecode signal having a frame frequency of 120 Hz with a region of a predetermined line number in the HD-SDI signal, and transmits the generated HD-SDI signal to a video signal transmitter 2. The line number at which the timecode is multiplexed is set beforehand. While a timing for line number 9 of the video signal when the timecode signal is stored in the video signal is being used as a reference, the line number at which the timecode is multiplexed is line number 2, 283, 564, 845 earlier than line number 2.25, 283.5, 564.7, 846 of the HD-SDI signal which corresponds to the timing. This enables the timecode transmitter 1 to generate and transmit the HD-SDI signal with which the timecode is multiplexed so as to be in time for the timing of multiplexing of the timecode signal by the video signal transmitter 2.;SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2;COPYRIGHT: (C)2018,JPO&INPIT
