PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nuclear fuel storage facility and a nuclear fuel storage method which can prevent complicated behavior of nuclear storage racks during an earthquake.SOLUTION: A nuclear fuel storage facility includes: spent fuel storage racks 11 including a plurality of cells 13 each of which houses one spent fuel assembly 1 stored in a spent fuel storage pool 12; and a rectangular common base 16 on which the plurality of spent fuel storage racks 11 are mounted in a fixed state. The common base 16 is fixed on a bottom face 20 of the spent fuel storage pool 12 by using a plurality of foundation bolts 19 provided on a line parallel with a long side 18A of the common base 16 and at a position corresponding to a center position of the longest base (long side 15A of a bottom face 14) in each of the spent fuel storage racks 11.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
