PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately detect a sign of abnormality with respect to an operation characteristic of a switch.SOLUTION: A switch operation characteristic monitoring device is constituted by: a current sensor for measuring closing command current for a switch; an auxiliary switch for outputting signals depending on positions of contact pieces from at least two or more auxiliary contacts; a measurement unit for measuring signals from the current sensor and the auxiliary switch; a diagnosis unit for determining the existence of abnormality; and a display unit for performing display showing abnormality when it is determined that the abnormality exists. The switch operation characteristic monitoring device: calculates a threshold from a plurality of results of opening/closing tests performed in advance; calculates feature time obtained from closing command current and a signal from the auxiliary switch at the time of a breaker operating actually; and determines abnormality when comparison with the threshold shows deviation.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 7
