PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simplify the application of an unshaped refractory to a gap around a stave cooler installed in a blast furnace, and to achieve the application in a short period.SOLUTION: In the method for applying unshaped refractories to a first gap between stave coolers installed in a blast furnace and to a second gap between the stave cooler and a steel shell, a nozzle is inserted from the inside of the blast furnace to the first gap, while moving the nozzle along the first gap, the unshaped refractory materials are filled into the first gap and the second gap, the cone penetration of the unshaped refractory materials is controlled to 270 to 330, a slump value is controlled to 7 cm or lower, and air pressure upon press-feeding the unshaped refractory materials to the nozzle is controlled to 0.3 to 0.7 MPa.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
