PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nonhuman animal-model system for intracerebral hemorrhage conditions, to provide a method for evaluating a substance for treating the intracerebral hemorrhage condition in a mammal, to provide a method for treating hematoma expansion or recurrent rebleeding resulting from the intracerebral-hemorrhage condition in a mammal, and to provide a pharmaceutical composition for administration into the intracerebral-hemorrhage condition or at a distance proximal to the intracerebral-hemorrhage condition.SOLUTION: The invention provides a method for treating hematoma expansion or recurrent bleeding resulting from an intracerebral-hemorrhage condition, the method comprising: (a) providing a pharmaceutical composition comprising (i) a therapeutically effective amount of anti-fibrinolytic agent and (ii) a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier; (b) administering the pharmaceutical composition into the hematoma in brain or at a distance proximal to the hematoma in brain; and (c) improving patient outcome.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
