The subject of the present invention relates to an acousto-optic deflector (10) having a layered structure, which consists essentially of at least two acousto-optic crystals (12), each of which has at least one electroacoustic transformation. A vessel (14) is connected and adjacent crystals (12) are separated by an acoustic isolator (16). The subject of the present invention further relates to a method of deflecting a light beam using an acousto-optic deflector (10), said acousto-optic deflector (10) comprising at least two acousto-optic crystals (12 ′, 12 ″). Of the first acousto-optic crystal (12 ′) using the first electroacoustic transducer (14 ′) connected to the first acousto-optic crystal (12 ′). Of the second acousto-optic crystal (12 ″) and connected to the second acousto-optic crystal (12 ″) and the second acousto-optic crystal (12 ′) and the second acousto-optic crystal (12 ′). A second acoustic wave (15 ") is generated using a second electroacoustic transducer (14") disposed between the crystal (12 ") and the crystal (12"). [Selection] Figure 2a
