PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide wearable automatic injection devices for subcutaneously injecting a therapeutic agent into a patient's body at controlled rates.SOLUTION: A housing 102 of a wearable automatic injection device 100 includes an adhesive layer 124 disposed proximal to the skin of a patient or an article of clothing of the patient, and houses a syringe assembly extending along a longitudinal axis L and including a barrel portion 106 for holding a dose 108 of a therapeutic agent to be injected into the patient's skin. A plunger actuator 112 actuates directly or indirectly the barrel portion to drive a bung 110 for delivery of the therapeutic agent. In an injection state, the barrel portion advances within the housing toward the distal end of the device such that a syringe needle 120 pierces through a septum and establishes fluid communication between the barrel portion and an injection needle 118 coupled to an injection button 116.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1A
