PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an elasto-plastic hysteretic damper capable of functioning as a damper to the input from a plurality of directions.SOLUTION: Two planar shearing parts 11, 11 are serially provided between plates 14, 15 via a connection part 12 and fixed to a substructure 2. The plate 15 is located between stoppers 16, 16 for a horizontal beam 1b of a superstructure 1. When there is input of horizontal force not smaller than that of a predetermined level in a bridge axis direction, the stoppers 16, 16 for the superstructure 1 abut on end faces 15a, 15a parallel to the plate 15 in a direction perpendicular to its bridge axis. The abutting impact can be damped by shearing plastic deformation of the shearing parts 11, 11.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
