PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device that selects books to be displayed on a book shelf, plans a book layout, and supports the improvement of book sale at a target bookstore.SOLUTION: The book layout support device includes a database for each bookstore. The books having high sales in the best bookstore are set as the stock in a target bookstore. Here, the best bookstore is defined as the bookstore in which the numerical value obtained by dividing the sales by the bookstore scale is the highest among the bookstores having a bookstore scale and bookstore location similar to those of the target bookstore. The book layout plan of the target bookstore is performed so that the display position of the books having high sales matches with the display position in the best bookstore.
