PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for reducing pantograph contact force variation which can automatically adjust the control parameters of an active control mechanism in a short time.SOLUTION: A pantograph includes: a contact strip 3 pressed against a trolley wire 33; an actuator 13 for dynamically controlling a vertical contact force between the trolley wire 33 and the contact strip 3; and means 10 for measuring the contact force. The signal of the measured contact force is input to a controller 20 of the actuator 13, and the controller 20 outputs a control command signal for the actuator 13. In the controller 20, after a phase-synchronized waveform approximately coincident with the frequency of a signal component in the vicinity of a dominant frequency in the contact force signal is shifted by a certain phase φ and converted into a delayed waveform, the signal of the delayed waveform is adjusted in gain A and output as the control command signal. The phase φ and the gain A are sequentially updated at fixed time intervals according to the sensitivity of contact force variation to control parameters, thereby the parameters for making the contact force variation zero N are searched for, and an adjustment is performed.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
