PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hermetic secondary battery deformation detection sensor, a hermetic secondary battery deformation detection sensor manufacturing method, a hermetic secondary battery, and a hermetic secondary battery deformation detection method, capable of detecting only a large deformation noticed at an abnormal time with high sensitivity without sensing a small deformation noticed at a normal time.SOLUTION: A hermetic secondary battery deformation detection sensor comprises: a polymer matrix layer; and a detection unit, the polymer matrix layer changing an external field in response to a deformation in the polymer matrix layer, the detection unit detecting a change in the external field, and an inner secondary battery-side area of the polymer matrix layer in a thickness direction being higher in elastic modulus than an outer area in the thickness direction.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
