A thermoelectric material including a composition of Formula 1: €ƒFormula 1 (Bi 1-x-z Sb x A z ) u (Te 1-y Se y ) w , wherein A is a transition metal, 0 ‰¤ x 1, 0 ‰¤ y ‰¤ 1, 0 z ‰¤ 0.03, 1.8 ‰¤ u ‰¤ 2.2, and 2.8 ‰¤ w ‰¤ 3.2. Also claimed are a thermoelectric element comprising the material, a thermoelectric module including such an element, a thermoelectric apparatus comprising the module and a method of producing the thermoelectric material.
