Current discovery mechanisms lack abilities such as those associated with permissions associated with a given registrant. In an exemplary embodiment, a service layer registrant can communicate with a network node hosting the service layer. The network node may receive a resource discovery request from the registrant. Discovery may require a variety of contexts.
