PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suitably maintain a state of liquid filled within a discharge port of a liquid droplet discharge device and reduce electric power consumption.SOLUTION: A liquid droplet discharge device for discharging liquid droplets on the basis of input information includes: a nozzle for discharging the liquid droplets; a piezoelectric element 202 for generating discharge force to discharge the liquid droplets from the nozzle; and a controller 100 for outputting a drive signal to drive the piezoelectric element 202. The controller 100 outputs a normal operation drive signal for discharging the liquid droplets on the basis of the input information and a maintaining operation drive signal for maintaining the state of the droplets within the nozzle. The maintaining operation drive signal is a signal with a sharper change of voltage compared to the normal operation drive signal and has a narrower variation width of voltage compared to the normal operation drive signal.
