The present invention provides a two-dimensional code-based method and system for seeking a ward. The method comprises: a guardian reads a vacant code type two-dimensional code of a ward, and after information of the ward is filled out, the guardian sends a ward information uploading request to a server; after the server establishes the information linked list of the ward according to the ward information uploading request, the server activates the two-dimensional code of the ward; after a passerby reads the two-dimensional code of the ward so as to fill out required information, the passerby sends a discovery instruction of the ward to the server; and after the server finds, by means of query, information of the ward and information of a guardian according to the discovery instruction of the ward, the server contacts the guardian and informs the guardian of the current position of the ward and a contact way of the passerby. A system for executing the method comprises a two-dimensional code of a ward, a guardian terminal on which guardian APP software is installed, a server, and a passerby terminal. By means of the present invention, a new way is provided for a guardian to seek a lost ward or an alone ward, so that the guardian can find the ward as soon as possible.
