A pressure sensitive adhesive comprising an acrylate dispersion, wherein the acrylate dispersion comprises (i) a polymer composed of a monomeric acrylate and optionally b) an ethylenically unsaturated comonomer that is not an acrylate. The pressure-sensitive adhesive comprising a polymeric acrylate dispersion, in particular an aqueous polymeric acrylate dispersion, and (ii) a modified layered silicate.
