PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for bleeding a lithium ion battery scrap and a method for recovering valuable metal capable of shortening bleeding time of the lithium ion battery scrap and thereby enhancing efficiency of a treatment of the lithium ion battery scrap in the case of deposition of the manganese when bleeding the lithium ion battery scrap.SOLUTION: There is provided a method for bleeding a lithium ion battery scrap containing at least a target metal by an acidic solution and a manganese ion and manganese dioxide exist at the same time by adding the manganese dioxide to an acidic solution with a condition that the manganese ion exists in the acidic solution. Or manganese ion and the manganese dioxide exist at the same time by adding the manganese dioxide to the acidic solution with a condition that no manganese ion exist in the acidic solution and then generating the manganese ion in the acidic solution.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
