In elevator ropes where a torsion identification mark is formed on the outer surface of the rope body to identify the torsional state in the length direction of the rope, the torsion identification mark identifies the circumferential position in the circumferential direction of the rope. It is formed as a mark having different visibility enabling, and is formed in the same pattern for a plurality of positions at predetermined intervals in the length direction of the rope.
