PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase absorption amount of liquid such as an antiseptic solution and the like in a tampon and a cotton swab that are made of a polyester fiber, as well as to reduce absorption rate of pharmaceutical component from the antiseptic solution and to carry out sterilization treatment at a low cost.SOLUTION: A tampon and a cotton swab having the tampon are provided, the tampon being manufactured by using a sliver made through a card treatment process in which a card treatment is carried out to a polyester fiber to which crimps are formed and which is cut into a prescribed length. A degree of crystallization of the polyester fiber is at 30% or more.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
